Self-Care Sundays: Pamper yourself with indē wild

Someone tells you to take a moment, and you realise that throughout the week, you really don’t have it!

Whether you are rushing to meet deadlines or taking your little one from one activity to another, whether you are out breaking the glass ceiling or you are a stay-at-home dad, that ‘me’ time is often hard to come by.

But between those whirlwind of activities, it’s important that you take the time out to breathe; it’s essential that you carve out some time for self-care.

When most of the world takes a break on Sunday, why not you too?

Why not make each Sunday, a self care Sunday!

What’s about this self care Sunday, you ask?

Saturdays might be left to taking care of all those weekly chores that you didn’t get to. In the evening, you might step out to meet with friends or catch a dinner.

But Sundays are usually spent lazing around, not doing much.

Why not make it a day where you can unwind, recharge, and treat yourself to some well-deserved TLC. With the right set of products and a little effort, Sundays can become a weekly ritual to nourish your body, mind, and soul.

But do I really need a Sunday self care routine?

Yes, you do!

In a world where burnout is becoming extremely commonplace, self-care is becoming more than just a buzzword. It is literally an antidote to stress and exhaustion. Your self-care Sundays are a reminder that you need to prioritize your well-being!

When you set up a Sunday self care routine, you are:

  • Recharging your energy and allowing yourself to reset before the new week begins
  • Improving your mental health by taking time out for yourself
  • Enhancing your physical wellbeing, because a proper skincare and haircare routine is essential for a better you

And we all know when you look good, you feel good!

Any self care Sunday ideas?

If you are not sure what to do on a Sunday to pamper yourself, well, fret not! We are here, aren’t we?

When we at indē wild talk about being a tribe, we mean it! We have you covered, even for self care Sunday ideas!

  • Start by creating a calming atmosphere - Create a serene space where you can fully unwind! Dim the lights, play soothing music, light some candles, and make sure you have plenty of cozy elements like soft towels, pillows, and blankets. Try using essential oils or incense sticks to fill the air with calming scents, because more relaxed your environment, the more effective your self-care routine will be.
  • Cleanse and exfoliate - The first step to any self-care routine is cleansing – pick your favourite face cleanser and wash your face thoroughly, but gently. You can look at soap free formulas or organic cleansers to remove all the dirt and grime away. Once your skin is clean, move onto exfoliation. Given that your skin needs exfoliation only once a week, why not every Sunday? While there are plenty of options out there these days, you can always give DIY scrubs a try. Avocado oil and brown sugar, leftover coffee grounds and coconut oil or oatmeal and whole milk – the options are endless and will leave your skin feeling soft and clean.
  • Serum it up – Your self-care Sunday skincare routine has to have some form of vitamin C and hydrating elements such as Vitamin E, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Ingredients like these will help you give an even toned skin, which is radiant and has that healthy glow. Although using a serum on a regular basis is a good idea, make it point that you use it at least as regularly as possible and Sunday would be a good day to take the time to do it.
  • Don’t forget your hair – Most people pay a lot of attention to their skin, but tend to forget their hair; it’s generally just a wash, dry, brush and done! Nope! Your Sunday self care needs to have time for your hair too! We suggest the Champi routine – warm some of our amazing Champi oil and then apply it to your scalp and lengths of your hair. If you have someone to give you a head massage, take benefit of it, or simply do it yourself. The handpicked ingredients in the oil will nourish and deep condition your hair, while the massage with the beautifully scented oil will soothe your soul!

Now that you are done with all this – you can laze around, read a book, catch up on your OTT favourites and let the resting phase just rest!

Because stage 2 of selfcare Sunday comes after a while!

  • Take a soak – Once you are done with all this, get your bath ready; fill the bathtub with warm water, add your favourite bath salts, spread some flower petals if you want. Light up some scented candles around the tub and maybe some music? As you take a soak in the warm water, let the stress of the week wash away, literally and figuratively! Remember to use a sulfate free shampoo to wash your hair as well, but do try and leave the oil in for a minimum of 30-45 minutes.
  • Take the time to reflect – After the bath, allow your hair to air dry, rather than subjecting it to heat. As your hair dries, take the time to pamper your skin once more before you hit the bed. With a night serum, such as our PM Sunset Restore Serum, you can give your skin a chance to heal, repair and rejuvenate for the next day. Apply a few drops of a hair serum to nourish your hair and scalp, as you settle down to meditate and just focus on your breathing.

Self-Care Sundays are your time to reconnect with yourself; our products are there just to help you take care of your hair and skin. By indulging in a day of self pampering, you are not just treating your skin and hair - you’re giving your whole being the care it deserves. So light that candle, apply your serum, and let the stress of the week melt away.

You’ve earned it!
